I am so fortunate that in Los Angeles, I can order a DMEK graft exactly the way that I want it. I can choose from a variety of donor tissue, I can specify the thickness and diameter of the tissue, I can order it stained with trypan blue dye and orientation marked, and it comes in an injector which is ready to use! Amazing, but that is the exception and for most surgeons in most cities around the world, this is not the case. Surgeons in other locations must learn to prepare the DMEK tissue themselves and this video shows a great example of that.
