1753: single site phaco trabeculectomy

Our guest surgeon is using a single site to perform the cataract surgery and the trabeculectomy because this patient already had two prior failed glaucoma surgeries with conjunctival scarring. In this case a triangular scleral flap is created instead of a square one and it is secured with 10-0 nylon sutures which can be lysed with a laser in the post-op period in order to allow greater filtration. Additional use of 5-FU (5-fluoro-uracil) as an adjunct to minimize scarring.
