Can we use a Toric IOL in Keratoconus?

Toric IOLs have the ability to neutralize corneal astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery to improve vision for our patients. The toric profile on the optic is centered, regular, and symmetric and it works best if the patient’s corneal astigmatism is also centered, regular, and symmetric. For patients with keratoconus, this is usually not the case. So can we still use the toric IOL in these patients?
